Renault CEO Carlos Ghosn expects the French automaker's weak spot -- global passenger -car sales -- to become a strength soon because of a product offensive that includes the all-new Talisman midsize car and Kadjar compact SUV as well as the arrival of the new-generation Megane at the Frankfurt auto show in September. "We are one on the few automakers that did not cut investments or delay products during the crisis, so we are not making compromises of either-or , we are a generalist automaker, so we are adding SUVs, crossovers and sedans," Ghosn said on Monday while unveiling the Talisman, which replaces the Laguna and Latitude model lines.

Nissan says paid CEO Ghosn $8.4 million last year

Nissan Motor Co , Japan's second-biggest automaker, said on Tuesday it paid Chief Executive Carlos Ghosn 1.035 billion yen last business year, up 4 percent from the previous year. Ghosn, one of the highest-paid CEOs in Japan, received 995 million yen in compensation in the year ended March 2014.

French automaker Renault SA and its Japanese partner Nissan Motor Co continue to increase savings through synergies and can meet longer-term goals without expanding its current alliances, Chief Executive Carlos Ghosn told Reuters on Wednesday. The two saved "much more" than 3 billion euros in 2014 from sharing costs for new vehicles and technology development, compared with 2.8 billion euros in the previous year, he said.

Carlos Ghosn, the chief executive officer of both Renault SA and Nissan Motor Co., said the Nissan board will meet this week to discuss a recent move by the French government, Renault's biggest shareholder, to secure itself double-voting rights in the French car maker.
