Alphabet returns to revenue growth of 14% in Q3, net profit jumps 59%

(Telecompaper) Google's parent company Alphabet reported a return to revenue growth in the third quarter, as the advertising market recovered from the slowdown in Q2. Revenues rose 14 percent year-on-year to USD 46.2 billion, and the operating margin improved to 14 percent from 13 percent. Net profit jumped 59 percent to USD 11.2 billion or USD 16.40 per share.

Apple quarterly revenue growth slows to 1% as iPhone, China sales fall

(Telecompaper) Apple reported revenues of USD 64.7 billion for its fiscal fourth quarter to September, up just 1 percent from a year earlier. Growth came from Mac computers and services, offsetting a drop in iPhone sales ahead of the release of new products in October. The company's net profit fell to USD 12.7 billion from USD 13.7 billion on an increase in R&D and other operating costs.

ZTE revenue growth accelerates to 37% in Q3

(Telecompaper) ZTE announced revenues of CNY 74.13 billion for the first nine months of 2020, an increase of 15.4 percent from the year-earlier period. The company's growth accelerated in the third quarter, to 37.2 percent to CNY 26.93 billion in revenue, compared to a 5.8 percent increase in sales reported for the first half of the year.

Microsoft maintains quarterly revenue growth at 12% on demand for Azure, consumer products

(Telecompaper) Microsoft maintained solid double-digit growth in its fiscal first quarter to September, thanks to demand for its cloud services as well as consumer products. Revenue rose 12 percent year-on-year to USD 37.2 billion, slowing only slightly from 13 percent growth in the previous quarter. Operating profit was up 25 percent to USD 15.9 billion, and net profit jumped 30 percent to USD 13.9 billion.
