(Telecompaper) HTC reported revenues of TWD 2.8 billion for the second quarter, less than half the TWD 6.8 billion recorded a year earlier. However, the company said its gross margin continued to improve, reaching 20.3 percent compared to 14.7 percent in Q1, and the operating loss reduced to TWD 2.5 billion from TWD 2.7 billion in the previous quarter.

(Telecompaper) German operators Deutsche Telekom, Telefonica Deutschland and Vodafone Deutschland launched Mobile Connect, a mobile-phone-based login procedure for online portals that enables simple and protected login to internet services on PCs, tablets and mobile phones. All customers need to register is their smartphones and their mobile phone numbers. Their personal mobile number becomes a unique digital identity for internet purchases or registration on online portals. In the future, Mobile Connect could also enable digital visits to government agencies.
