SW Terwilliger Blvd Sewer Project Update: January 24, 2014 -- Construction to start in July 2014

Environmental Services will construct 6,800-feet of eight-inch gravity sewer in Terwilliger Boulevard from SW Powers Court to Highway 43. The new sewer will connect to the 30-inch Tryon Interceptor sewer, which carries sewage to the Tryon Creek Wastewater Treatment Plant in Lake Oswego. This improvement to Portlands wastewater collection system will help protect water quality, public health, and the environment.

SW 86th Avenue Pump Station Project Construction Update: January 24, 2014

Environmental Services works to protect water quality and the environment through wastewater collection and treatment, sewer construction and maintenance, stormwater management, and stream and watershed restoration. When the SW 86th Avenue Pump Station is complete at the end of 2015, it will increase the capacity of the Fanno Basin Sewer System to ensure that the system can handle all wastewater flows during large rain storms.

VSA North sewer project: Construction update 1/24/14

Environmental Services is working on a project to repair deteriorating sewer pipes in the Vernon, Sabin and Alameda neighborhoods, roughly north of the Alameda Ridge. Sewers in these neighborhoods can be between 90 and 100 years old. The project will improve sewer system performance and add capacity to the collection system.

Environmental Services is replacing or repairing about 17,000 feet of public sewer pipes that are between 60 and 90 years old and failing due to age. The city installed many of these sewers before 1920. The project also includes constructing about 9,100 feet of 6-inch sewer branch pipes that will connect homes and businesses to the new public sewer pipes.
