Supplied in 2.4 x 3.67 x 0.5 mm WCSP-28 package, TC7765WBG is compatible with WPC Qi low-power specification v1.1 and manages 12 W power transfer necessary for wireless charging of tablet devices. Qi Foreign Object Detection compliance prevents heating of metal objects in path of wireless power transfer between receiver and transmitter. Built with mixed-signal process, IC combines modulation and control circuitry with rectifier power pickup, I²C interface, and circuit protection functions.

CES 2015: McDonalds is going to offer free wireless charging

You've been able to go to McDonalds and grab your Big Macs with a side order of Wi-Fi for quite some time now, and in the near future you'll be able to go to McDonalds and wirelessly charge your phones thanks to a deal with AirCharge. Announced by Aircharge at CES , the deal will see 600 Aircharge Qi chargers will be installed in McDonalds in the country, allowing anybody with a compatible phone to charge their phone while they chow down on their McFlurry.

Energous shows wireless charging via Bluetooth

Wireless power has been a lab experiment for Intel for a few years now, and a few companies like Qi and PMA have managed to get a few devices on the market, but the power transmission was only good for a few feet. A startup called Energous is showing off wireless power charging at the Consumer Electronics Show that could be a game changer, because Energous claims its wireless power system, called WattUp, can power up a device from up to 20 feet away.
