RHEA is currently recruiting a Ground Segment Operations Engineer to provide engineering support to the GSA for continuing the preparation of the Galileo exploitation phases. Please note that position is based at our clients premises in Prague. Tasks and Activities The primary task for this position will be to contribute to a new Galileo Service Operator GSOp ITT that will be prepared over the course of 2014 and conducted in 2015. Working alongside the ITT integrated, consisting of members from ESA, the European Commission and the GSA, your envisaged tasks and activities include Ensuring that GSA needs are addressed throughout the preparation of the GSOp tender and that such needs are injected into the current Operations WP6 contract extension Change Request Evaluating current WP6 documentation and site infrastructure GCC and Remote Sites, as required Contributing to the definition of the Galileo Operations Handover plan based on current WP6 contract constraints to new GSOp contract Contributing to the definition of the GCC handover concept, considering the current WP6 GCC operations concept Supporting the definition of the Operational requirements in the ITT SoW Supporting the definition of Ground Segment Maintenance concepts and related requirements in the ITT SoW Contributing to the evaluation of proposals received from the bidders during the Selection, the Negotiation phases and the BAFO, for the parts related to GCSGMS Operations and to the ILS Maintenance Skills and Experience You must possess the following skills and experience University degree in Engineering Minimum 3 years of previous work experience on Galileo Ground Segment and Operations Strong understanding of Galileo ILS and Maintenance aspects Excellent communication skills previous experience liaising with both ESA and the European Commission would be an asset Fluency in English How to Apply Looking to take your career to the next level? Network support during EPSSG Ground Segment Development

Task Description You will be part of the Communication Systems team in the GSI Division and will work in support to the EPSSG Programme as part of a support Work Package from TSS to the Programme. Carrying out activities covering the networking aspects in the ground segments associated with EPSSG will include performing the following tasks, which will initially focus on the needs of the EPSSG Preparatory Programme but nominally cover the entire development lifecycle Support interfacing and liaising with third parties, e.g. visavis service providers and suppliers, for matters related to the services andor products they supply Specification of an EPSSG ground segment network concept incl. purposescope definition, high level network system architecture and design, highlevel network testing and rollout strategy Specification of EPSSG ground segment network requirements Requirements identification, analysis, validation and maintenance e.g. extraction of required data flows and specification of their characteristic Assist to the definition of EPSSG ground segment network interfaces From the EPSSG ground segment network requirements, specification of derived requirements for the evolution and upgrade of operations network infrastructure and services Establishing the overall EPSSG ground segment network solution, incl. specification of the network integration, verification and testing approach Identification of areas of risk and contribution to related tradeoff studies or prototyping activities Participate in and provide support the EPSSG ground segment reviews, e.g. Requirements Review and Preliminary Design Review Participate in evaluation and comparison of offers for network services and systems, contribute to supplier negotiations Contribute to procurement of the overall EPSSG ground segment in areas related to networking, e.g. requirements specifications and statements of work Participate in EPSSG meetings at system, ground segment and facility level Act as the prime person within the Comms team dealing with networking aspects for the EPSSG programme Work within a matrix structure, reporting to the appointed representatives of the EPSSG programme, as well as to the Comms team leader In the performance of these tasks, the key person shall apply the clients configuration and change control procedures as well as the relevant system engineering standards, quality management procedures and maintenance procedures. Skills Requirements A University degree or equivalent At least 5 years of proven knowledge and handson experience in the following mandatory skills area Preparation of network system requirements and design specifications Understanding of the use cases and needs on networking imposed by satellite ground segment environments, experience of translating these to requirements on network infrastructure, functions and systems Satellite ground segment network solution engineering throughout its lifecycle, from identification of needs to deployment, with a focus on Cisco technology and solutions Working in and applying the above skills in highavailability, alwayson production environments, driven by high availability requirements Interacting with suppliers of network products and services Supporting procurements of network services Knowledge and handson experience with the following is considered very desirable Holding a current Cisco certification or is able to substantiate equivalent experience Demonstrated capability of technical authoring of network system requirements specification, including document structuringorganisation, and of creating and working with technical network diagrams Visio Ability to present verbally and in writing complex network solutions and systems in a comprehensible way, with the specific ability to explain relevant details while keeping the focus on the overall system aspects Ability to translate IT jargon into customer business terms The following experience is also required In carrying out the various tasks above, under consideration of the working environment you will be able to apply the following skills and capabilities Microsoft Office Suite, including MSVisio Work with a high degree of autonomy, taking ownership of problems, and applying good analytical skills down to the root cause level Work in teams, willing to share experience and provide cross support to other team members Communicateinteract adequately with a variety of people at different levels customers, suppliers, peers, leaders in a multinational environment Understand and anticipate customers needs with flexibility to adapt approach and solutions to meet customer requirements Conduct all activities in an orderly and disciplined manner, working calmly and correctly under pressure Working Hours The task will be performed during normal office hours Monday Thursday from 0830 to 1715 and Friday from 0830 to 1600
