Deutsche Telekom to launch virtual service Immmr

(Telecompaper) Deutsche Telekom announced Immmr, a service for mobile numbers as an independent, open communications service for voice, messaging and video telephony that will launch in the second half of this year. The service makes mobile phone numbers virtual, meaning they are no longer tied to a specific device or SIM card. Immmr will initially be available for download as a free app from the App Store and Google Play. The service developed by the Deutsche Telekom's R&D department T-Labs in Berlin is being tested in selected European countries.

'hayu' SVOD service to launch in UK, Ireland and Australia

NBCUniversal International has announced the launch of hayu - a subscription video-on-demand (SVOD) reality service. The first all-reality service of its kind - curated and fully integrated with social media - will launch in March in the UK, Ireland & Australia on a full array of devices.

Vodafone TV service to launch in UK in Q1 2016

Vodafone has announced results for the six months ended 30 September 2015. In Europe, the company had 9.2 million TV customers at the end of the period. Vodafone launched consumer broadband in the UK in October, with a TV service to follow.

Alipay to launch m-payment service in Taiwan

(Telecompaper) Chinese electronic payment platform Alipay has received approval to launch a payment service in Taiwan in the fourth quarter, said Alipay's operator Ant Financial. Ant Financial, Alibaba's financial service affiliate, have no details related to the specific timetable, Xinhua news agency reports. According to Ant Financial, Alipay will work with E. Sun Commercial Bank in Taiwan to offer a QR mobile payment service.
