High-Resolution Measurements With R&S Oscilloscopes

2015-04-17 09:54:29| rfglobalnet Downloads

The introduction of high-resolution oscilloscopes is the responds to the increased necessity for more in-depth signal analysis in particular in A&D, automotive, medical and power analysis applications where it is often required to view signals with both large and small voltage details. Characterizing Switched Mode Power Supplies (SMPS) is one example. To perform accurate power measurements the oscilloscope must ac-quire the voltage during the off and on times within the same waveform. This requires more dynamic range than the typical 8 bit resolution can provide, since the voltage difference can be several hundreds of volts. Another example is the analysis of amplitude modulated RF signals with a small modulation index, which are found in radar applications.

Real-Time Oscilloscopes analyze pulse amplitude modulation.

2015-04-03 14:31:07| Industrial Newsroom - All News for Today

Providing comprehensive analysis of electrical PAM-4 signals, N8827A PAM-4 analysis software is used with V- and Z-Series oscilloscopes, while N8827B PAM-4 analysis software works with S-Series oscilloscopes. Software provides measurements such as eye width, eye height, and eye skew; level amplitude, level noise, and level skew; and amplitude level linearity. When using 63 GHz Z-Series oscilloscope, designers can achieve accurate analysis of electrical PAM-4 signals to 32 Gbaud.

Oscilloscopes simultaneously analyze time domain, spectrum.

2015-03-04 14:31:09| Industrial Newsroom - All News for Today

With R&S RTM-K18 spectrum analysis and spectrogram option, R&S RTM bench oscilloscopes can simultaneously analyze analog, digital, protocol-based, and RF signals. Option can also be used in 1 GHz model and enables oscilloscopes to analyze time domain while simultaneously analyzing spectrum, logic, and serial protocol. Time and spectrum analyses are independently configurable, and parameters such as center frequency and resolution bandwidth can be specifically configured to match task.
