A2 Milk suitor, Dean Foods, is refusing to explain the sudden departure of its chairman after the US regulator launched an insider-trading investigation into the American dairy giant. The probe and surprise resignation of Dean chairman Tom C. Davis, as well as a steeper-than-expected decline in quarterly sales, sparked a sell-off in the company's shares, which dived as much as 18 per cent in New York on Monday.
