BIO applauds SEC for finalizing Regulation A+.

BIO applauds the SEC for finalizing provision of the Jumpstart Our Business Startups Act that will raise offering ceiling under Reg A+ from $5 million to $50 million. According to BIO President and CEO Jim Greenwood, most small biotech companies operate without any product revenue, relying on external investors to finance all of their operations. Increased offering limit under Reg A+ will enable emerging biotech companies to raise capital while reducing regulatory compliance.

BIO Urges Governor to Sign interchangeable biologic medicine bill.

BIO is calling upon Governor Deal to sign legislation to create pathway for substitution of interchangeable biologic medicines. Policies outlined in Bill 51, which passed Georgia Senate with 43-3 vote following unanimous vote in the House, align with BIO's principles on biologic substitution. BIO President and CEO Jim Greenwood called this legislation, "a significant step forward," citing transparency and communication between patients and their treatment teams.

During BIO's 12th Annual World Congress on Industrial Biotechnology, executives from biofuels, renewable chemical, and airline industries will discuss technology breakthroughs, business partnerships, and sustainability initiatives. Some Plenary Sessions will include: Feedstock Sustainability in the Circular Economy, Biobased Innovations for the Future, and Flying the Friendly Green Skies. Event will be held July 19–22, 2015 at the Palais des congrès de Montréal in Montréal, Canada.
