You will be assigned to the following tasks Under the direction of the Managing Director of CS GmbH, you will be in charge of building technical solutions and of managing technical activities for Mission Control Systems for space ground segment SCOS based. This activity includes, among others, the following activities Technical proposal management leading. Team management and training if needed. Consultancy Expertise role on a case by case basis. Project Reporting. Profile Solid experience in Mission Control system design development validation for space industry agencies. Some experiences as technical bid manager or project manager in space ground segment would be a distinct advantage. Academic background M.Sc. in Computer Science Engineer, Telecommunications Engineer, Mathematician with high Computing Skills or Similar Technical skills Knowledge of SCOS would be valuable Good level in C and Java programing. Knowledge of CCSDS standard and ECSS standard PUS would be valuable. Good Knowledge of CORBA MySQL, Python. Good background in Linuxwindows environments Good knowledge of SVN Mercurial. Proposal writing skills Others skills Proficiency in English language High level of flexibility Good organisation skills, good communication skills. A vacancy has arisen for a Mechanical Architect with Astrium in Stevenage. The key responsibilities of the role are as follows Management of the Satellite Accommodation Structure verification, Mechanical subsystems including structure, mechanism, booms both in house and sub contract. Team management of thermal and propulsion architects plus dynamic analysis and drawing office personnel. Provide guidance to CAD operators in order to generate drawings and documents for satellite integration. The architect will also have to interface with Integration Verification areas to resolve problems as necessary. Preparation evaluation of test plans and test reports. Maintenance of a data base of equipment mechanical qualification status. Within EADS Astrium we use separate departments specialists in the power, communications, instrument and payload design, product assurancequality assurance, electronics, stress and fracture analysis fields, but the mechanical architect requires an awareness of these disciplines. Present the satellite architecture to customers with the use of presentations and formal design review packs and meetings. Similarly the architect has to agree accept test results from the various phases of build subsystemspacecraft and where necessary defend these at customer delivery reviews. Management of the mechanical analysis team during satellite level environmental testing, including liaison to customer, launch service provider, test facilities and project management. Schedule and cost control using company software. Management of in house and subcontract costs. The successful candidate will demonstrate the following skills and experience Extensive experience in mechanical engineering, structural analysis and test, ideally gained within the space or aerospace sector PC skills, Word, Excel, Access, other software of benefit e.g. FEM, Nastran. Presentation skills, verbal and written communication. Team Leadership Interpersonal skills. DegreeHND in a relevant subject such as Maths Physics Mechanical engineeringAeronautical engineering, or relevant experience in lieu EADS Recruitment Centre Applications should be made via the EADS website.
