Rack Centre announces USD 100 mln data centre expansion in Lagos

(Telecompaper) West African carrier neutral data centre operator Rack Centre has announced an expansion to a total net lettable white space of 6,000 square metres and 13 MW of IT power capacity at its Lagos campus, ITWeb reported. This increase will supplement the expansion already under way to double existing capacity to 1.5 MW and 1,200 square metres of white space in early 2021. The report said the expansion is worth USD 100 million.

EQT buys data centre operator EdgeConnex

(Telecompaper) Private investment company EQT has agreed to buy data centre operator EdgeConneX from an investor group led by Providence Equity Partners. No financial details were provided for the deal, expected to close sometime in the fourth quarter. An earlier report from Bloomberg put the takeover price at at least USD 2.5 billion.

NTT currently operates a platform with over 500,000 square meters of colocation space across 160 data centres located in more than 20 countries and regions. NTT's Global Data Centers division will soon launch new data centre capability in India, the UK, Japan, the US, Germany, Malaysia and Indonesia.

TikTok to house all European user data in new Irish data centre
