Ericsson underlying sales growth improves to 7% in Q3 on 5G demand in China, US

(Telecompaper) Ericsson reported a small acceleration in underlying sales growth to 7 percent in the third quarter, supported by the expanding Chinese 5G market. Margins also continued to improve at the company, giving confidence it will meet its full-year outlook and targets for 2022, Ericsson said.

Bouygues Telecom trims FY outlook as sales growth slows due to pandemic

(Telecompaper) Bouygues Telecom has trimmed its outlook for full-year results following pressure from the Covid-19 pandemic. The French operator now expects annual growth of 4 percent in services revenue due to the sharp drop in roaming, compared to a previous forecast for 5 percent growth. This follows growth of 8 percent in service revenues in the first half of the year.

Xiaomi sales growth slows to 3% in Q2, adjusted net profit falls 7%

(Telecompaper) Xiaomi reported a further slowdown in revenue growth in the second quarter. Revenues were up just 3.1 percent year-on-year to CNY 53.54 billion, as the coronavirus outbreak hurt sales in Europe, India and other markets. Gross profit rose 6.1 percent to CNY 7.70 billion, helped by a growing share of services in the sales mix, while adjusted net profit fell 7.2 percent to CNY 3.7 billion.

Microsoft growth continues with Q4 sales up 13%, net profit falls on store closure costs

(Telecompaper) Microsoft reported another quarter of double-digit revenue growth, led by demand for its cloud services. Revenues rose 13 percent year-on-year to USD 38.0 billion in its fiscal fourth quarter to June, and operating profit was up 8 percent to USD 13.4 billion. Net profit fell 15 percent to USD 11.2 billion or USD 1.46 per share, due to a one-time charge of USD 450 million to shut down its shops and a large tax benefit in the year-earlier period.
