(Telecompaper) India-based Reliance Communications (RCom) and Alcatel-Lucent have signed a network managed services contract for Eastern and Southern India up to 2020. The contract, which extends RCom's existing agreement with Alcatel-Lucent by over USD 1 billion, will support delivery of voice and data communications services to RCom customers. Alcatel-Lucent will enhance Reliance Communication's operations and integrate hitherto independent mobile and fixed-line teams to form a single network management organisation. This optimised integration of resources will help Reliance Communications to enhance its focus on growing its business and services to customers.

Comcast to pay USD 150 mln to match Google's 7.85% in Arris

(Telecompaper) US cable operator Comcast has agreed to buy an around 7.85 percent stake in STB maker Arris for USD 150 million. Comcast is purchasing 10.6 million shares. The transaction is conditional upon the completion of Arris's USD 2.35 billion acquisition of Motorola Home from Google subsidiary Motorola Mobility, which will give Google also about 7.85 percent of Arris. The transaction is subject to customary regulatory approval.
Citic to buy 79% stake in CTM for USD 1.16 bln

(Telecompaper) Hong-Kong based telecommunication service provider Citic Telecom has signed two sale and purchase agreements with Cable & Wireless Communications and Portugal Telecom to acquire their interests in Macau operator CTM. Citic will buy Cable & Wireless' entire 51 percent stake for USD 749.7 million and a 28 percent interest from Portugal Telecom for USD 411.6 million. The two acquisitions are conditional upon each other. Citic Telecom currently holds a 20 percent interest in CTM, and after the transactions are completed, the company will have a 99 percent holding in CTM, which will then become a subsidiary of Citic Telecom.
