Over the next three weeks we are building a team to propose to EUMETSAT in support of their programme to establish a Ground Stations Operations Engineering Service. This service covers aspects including Operations of the Ground Stations Implementation, verification and operational validation of the new Ground Stations and their evolutions Contributions to operations preparations and system verification validation. Anomaly Investigation Preparation of Operational Documentation Training of personnel All members of the team should have a university degree in a relevant engineering or scientific discipline e.g. telecoms, electronics, radio frequency. Proven experience in the operations of complex ground stations systems TTC and Mission Data Acquisition in support of multiple GOE and LEO spacecraft in a real time 247 spacecraft operations environment would be hugely advantageous. Position Reference 786 We are currently looking for an experienced engineer to join the ESTRACK Engineering Service team, based at ESOC, in Darmstadt, Germany. ESTRACK is the ESA Tracking Network of global ground stations, comprising a wide array of antenna types, i.e. for deepspace and LEO satellite communications. The facilities within ESTRACK require operations engineering services as provided by Station Maintenance and Operations Engineers SMOE who are assigned to a ground station facility asset. Station Maintenance and Operations Engineers are responsible for providing engineering services required for their assigned facility asset for preparing and maintaining associated antenna facilities during preparation of new support to mission and execution flying phase. Tasks and Activities The scope of work will include Definition of mission specific ground station configuration in the operations preparation phase and after major modifications. Supporting MC tailoring for any new mission ESA and external Agencies. Validation of station configuration and MC for remote operations. Generation of station and related operational configuration of mission specific documentation e.g. Network Configuration Document, Remote and local Procedures, training material during the life time of the mission. Skills and Experience The following skills and experience are mandatory University degree or equivalent education in Computer Science, Electronic Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or Telecommunications Engineering. Experience with deep space and 15m antennas Experience in the Telecommunication Engineering domain, i.e. RF expertise including practical experience as RF engineer. Broad understanding of IT Systems.
