Telekom Slovenije attracts just one bidder

(Telecompaper) Slovenia's Sovereign Holding company said it received only one binding offer for the state's majority stake in Telekom Slovenije. The deadline for bids was 13 April. The state company did not say who the bidder was. According to recent press reports, the bidding had narrowed to Deutsche Telekom and the private equity company Cinven. Two people familiar with the matter told Bloomberg that only Cinven placed a bid in the end.

Telekom Slovenije sells 50% stake in Gibtelecom

(Telecompaper) Telekom Slovenije said it has signed an agreement to sell a 50 percent stake in Gibtelecom to the Gibraltar Government, which owns the remaining 50 percent, for EUR 47.7 million. The sale is part of Telekom Slovenije's plan to exit non-core businesses in order to improve its financial position. The transaction is expected to be completed in December.
