Parts, Materials and Processes Engineer ARIANE Programmes

Our client is a new joint venture between two large European space companies. Using their long heritage in the space industry, they are developing the nextgeneration European launchers and manned space vehicles. They have several offices in Germany and France, those in Germany are located in Bremen and Munich. Currently they are heavily involved in the development of Europes most advanced launcher and looking for a PMP Engineer for both the Ariane 5 and Ariane 6 programmes. Tasks and Responsibilities The job holder is responsible for the improvement of parts, materials and processes of Arianne 5 and 6. The main tasks are broken down as follows Selection of materials and processes for launchers and space industry Definition of key parameters for manufacturing processes Support for qualification of new materials and processes Definition of inspection and test procedures Testing of metallic materials Treatment of nonconformances Establishment of lists of materials, mechanical parts and processes. Requirements University degree in Aerospace engineering or equivalent At least 2 years experience in materials and processes engineering for spacecraft andor launcher systems A good knowledge in metallic and nonmetallic materials, gases and fluids A good knowledge on physicalchemical methods of analysis Good knowledge of SAP and MSOffice Experience with metallic materials and joining technology, e.g. soldering or welding would be a plus Fluency in English. Senior Product Assurance Engineer, Spacecraft Programmes Ref SES0853 Region Europe Location Germany Bremen Company SES Category Space Engineering Position Staff Published 20160708 Context Considering the SES, ESA and OHB agreement to develop the AllElectric Propulsion Satellite ELECTRA, SES is searching for a Resident Product Assurance Engineer to support the ELECTRA procurement activities. The Product Assurance Engineer will be part of the SES Resident Field Office located at the OHB facility in Bremen, Germany. The SES Field Offices are established at the manufacturer facilities to oversee all programme activities until the satellite is launched to ensure on quality, on cost and on schedule satellites that meet SES Customers needs. The Product Assurance Engineer is responsible for the quality standard of parts, materials and processes applied into the construction of the ELECTRA satellite. The Product Assurance Engineer shall ensure the contractual Product Assurance Plan is effectively and timely implemented for the ELECTRA programme, meeting contractual performance requirements, and maintaining SES reputation for technical excellence and delivery. The ELECTRA programme has two major phases and each phase will last approximately 36 months. Responsibilities Provide day to day product assurance engineering support to the SES Programme Manager for the ELECTRA programme Ensure ELECTRA programme meets quality standards requirements at all levels Ensure contractual requirements are met at parts. equipment, subsystem and system level requirements Support unit, subsystem and system technical reviews, test activities and data reviews Provide rigorous oversight and enforcement of contract PA requirements, identify shortfalls and corrective actions Perform Mandatory Inspection Points at subcontractors and contractor facilities as necessary for the ELECTRA programme Provide summary of weekly activities and technical status including recommended actions to functional manager Support the anomaly investigations, resolution and closure at all levels Provide PA support during the ELECTRA single line flow As member of the ELECTRA project team, interface OHB, OHB subcontractors, OHB suppliers as well as ESA for PAQA related matters Experience Qualifications Engineering Degree with at least five years of experience in Product Assurance satellite engineering assignment, and satellite procurement field Have a thorough understanding of the satellite manufacturing quality control and product assurance, processes and procedures, spacecraft handling, inspection, integration and test Experienced with the ESA ECSS standards Ability to work on day to day issues with manufacturer and programme team Strong communication skills Initiative, good communication and negotiation skills, teamspirit Travel as required Our Offer Competitive salary package, coupled with a diverse array of challenges and development benefits SES is an Equal Opportunity and Affirmative Action Employer This position reports to Manager, Spacecraft Programmes Electra Apply for this Job online

Tasks and Responsibilities Proposing adequate methods to communicate to the suppliers and control the quality of their work Negotiation of management requirements to the supplier and monitor the way they implement them in their management documentation and in their product development project Performing of assessment audits of the suppliers as necessary and monitoring the implementation of principles Negotiation, validation and checking of the application of the quality plan with the subcontractors Ensuring quality requirements are taken into account by the subcontractor and passed down to all sub tier contractors in line with upper level requirements Monitoring surveillance acceptance of activities and deliverables Ensuring problems encountered during the development are properly solve to secure the production phase Defining Quality Surveillance Plans and leading Supplier Quality Improvement Plan when necessary and propose optimizations when possible.
