Our German activities grow at fast pace and to face our costumers high level expectations and needs, we are looking for talented profiles having relevant experience in Space systems. The key person will be in charge of the definition of the overall operational concept from the interface with industry up to the uplink of the new software images to the satellites. Heshe will produce the OBSW Ops Guide and related operation procedures. Heshe will be responsible for the end to end operational concept to manage reference and characterisation Databases being delivered to EUMETSAT. This also includes operational interfaces with industry. The key person will define for each type of database its life cycle and configuration control for operation usage. The key person will manage the Operational database against changes to successive Satellite Reference Databases deliveries. Heshe will provide a single interface within OPIT for the Satellite and Instrument Characteristic Databases and support FDF and PDAP experts for their respective Databases. Heshe will contribute to OICDs with external partners with respect to OBSW and Databases items. The key person will manage Ops Prep database editor tool and OBSW tool environments. Heshe will support the setting up of the OPS Configuration Management CM tool to manage satellite and ground configuration control. Heshe will coordinate the needs for operational configurations of the OBSW tools, procedures and Databases for a multi ground segment environments OPE, VAL, ENG and multisatellites. Heshe will support the MCO and PDAP ground segment development teams as Ops Prep representative with respect to OBSW and Databases interfaces and tools... PROFILE In addition to having a University degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline, the Key person shall have a demonstrated experience of at least three years in the field of spacecraft and ground segment operations with specific experience as follow Satellite operation preparation and routine operations phases OBSW maintenance expertise with good knowledge of Configuration Management CM processes for both ground images and onboard memory management Satellite Databases management in the frame of the operation preparation phase Experience on Operation Preparation tools such as procedure editor and databases management tools Familiarity with the definition of operational interfaces and interactions with industry or external partners. Furthermore, it would be a distinct advantage for the Key person to have experience with some of the following Knowledge of the ECSS E7041 Telemetry Telecommand Packet Utilisation standard Knowledge of the mission control systems SCOS and OBSM application Knowledge of the mission control systems SCOS MIB and SCOS MIB editors e.g. DABYS Knowledge of SQL and database management tools Some programming and scripting skills would also be an asset. The official languages of EUMETSAT are English and French. The working language for the position is English and therefore the Engineer must be able to work effectively in this language and have knowledge of the other. One of our clients in Germany is looking for a shortterm software management support. The candidate shall be involved in implementing improvements to the development environment for the companies Data Centre Archive and will be integrated within the Data Services Engineering Team. The duties shall be to analyse, design, and implement appropriate software configuration management, to support continuous integration, testing and deployment of UMARF software. Tasks Particular the tasks will include, but not be limited to The migration of the subversion repository to the TCE. Build management Improve the build processes with the introduction of continuous integration technologies. This will require some extensive rewriting of current build scripts. The following goals should be achieved An automated build process. Continuous running of test cases were possible. Improved reportingrealtime notification of build failuretest failures etc. Release management Improve the current software package management and deployment. Enable releases to be easily and efficiently implemented, tested and deployed. Simplification of the development environment. All prerequisites libraries, jar files, environmental variables etc, should be available from version control. Advice, suggestions and introduction of tools, practices and strategies for the software configuration management. QualificationsA university degree or equivalent in a relevant engineering discipline. Experience The candidate must be able to demonstrate knowledge in the following areas, with a minimum of 5 years in both System Development Maintenance Skills Experience of building complex software, in particular setting up a continuous integration environment e.g. Jenkins. Experience of migrating and updating Subversion repositories. Software Technology Skills Experience of source code control systems SubVersion configuration and administration. Unix commands and shell scripting. Advanced knowledge and experience of using ant and make. Extensive experience of scripting languages. Extensive experience with software package management. Extensive experience and knowledge of the configuration and administration of continuous integration software e.g. Jenkins
