Magyar Telekom, Telenor, Vodafone Hungary pay HUF 128.5 bln for 5G licences

(Telecompaper) Magyar Telekom, Telenor Hungary and Vodafone Hungary paid a total of HUF 128.5 billion (EUR 363 million) for 15 years of usage rights for the 700 MHz, 2,100 MHz and 3,600 MHz bands in telecom authority NMHH's latest auction. Due to the epidemic situation, the 5G auction took place under special circumstances.

Belgium attracts 5 applicants for temporary 5G licences

(Telecompaper) Belgian regulator BIPT announced five applicants for the temporary 5G licences available in the 3.6-3.8 GHz band. It proposes providing 40 MHz each to Telenet, Proximus, Orange Belgium, Cegeka and Entropia. The awards will be confirmed in individual decisions following a public consultation on the plan, open for comment until 21 April.

US extends window for temporary licences for Huawei sales again

(Telecompaper) The US Department of Commerce's Bureau of Industry and Security has extended the temporary licences for trading with Huawei again. The bureau also opened a consultation on possible future extensions, beyond the current deadline of 15 May.
