The awarded European Commission EC contract to Spaceopal is more than just its satellites in space. Galileo Service Operations will provide highquality positioning, navigation and timing services to users across the whole world as a civilcontrolled service with guaranteed continuity of coverage. Tasks and Responsibilities The Remote Site Maintenance Engineer supports the Spaceopal Site Service Maintenance Engineer on all aspects of the infrastructure deployment and Hosting Service provision as well as the related Ground Segment L1 Maintenance services at the worldwide distributed Galileo Remote Sites. SheHe is further responsible to improve service reliability of the Remote Site infrastructure and Maintenance services and to reduce the number of incidents. This includes in particular To deal with incidents, other emergencies and unplanned problems in line with the GSOp Service Management Processes To process all maintenance and hosting service tickets related to the remote sites and GILSC, providing punctual and exhaustive analysis To ensure the correct execution, recording and triggering of followup tasks needed to resolve the underlying issues in line with the GSOp ILS Plan To act as point of contact for the ILS Support Desk for the status monitoring of the local maintenance tasks preventive, corrective, evolutive To verify, planning and scheduling of local maintenance work and the correct and timely implementation of the solution for any issue detected To develop together with the site L1 and Hosting Maintenance teams the annual preventive maintenance plan applicable for the respective site and GILSC To support the technical coordination of the remote site hosting service and maintenance tasks To support the processing of the changesupgrades of the remote sites and GILSC To suggest refinement of maintenance and spare processes to optimize TAT between GILSC, Sites and Manufacturers To support the Site Service Maintenance Engineer in the assessment, monitoring and control of the performance of the subcontractors To maintain accurate records of all associated databases and technical documentation To review subcontractors data packages and issuing of technicalmanagerial documentation To support the Site Service Maintenance Engineer in the preparation of the technical proposals SPO should receive from GSA for contract changes related to remote sites Required Qualification and Experience University degree in a relevant field e.g. Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, Telecommunications or Electronics Experience in similar activities, better if acquired in Space or Defence programs Experience in the Galileo program Experience in using Maintenance Planning and Ticketing tools Previous experience working within maintenance, site service and warehouse environment Fluent written and spoken English Strong attitude to team work Fluency in standard office automation tools word processing, spreadsheets, email, internet, etc. Work location Spaceopal Headquarter Munich, Germany. Position Reference 005 You will have the opportunity to perform services at ESA Kourou office in support of the European Spaceport Infrastructure Office and the Exploitation Cost Monitoring Office with regards to following CSG operational contracts status, ensuring the validity of processes carried out as described in operational contracts, and helping to improve the industrial processes, with regards to exploitation related activities. Tasks and Activities The scope of work will include Conferring with stakeholders about specifications, industrial capacities and capabilities, and status of projects. Reviewing schedules, process flows, etc. to understand methods and activities in operations, integration and services, and how to improve efficiency and eliminate waste. Understanding the ways industrial systems at the CSG interact and how changes in conditions operations, launch rate, etc. can affect outcomes. Proposing industrial, process, and supply chain improvements. Designing control systems to minimise and resolve process and project issues. Coordinating with others internally and externally to assess the above and to create and implement changes. Contributing to measures and the improvement of database structure and functionalities. Helping to create processes methods to gather supplier contract and process activity data and propose and follow KPIs. Writing and establishment of report elements which will be directly usable in the ESA reporting system such as proposals and progress reports. Skills and Experience The following skills and experience are mandatory You have a Degree, preferably a masters degree in an engineering or related subject. Lean andor six sigma training would be an advantage. You have a senior level of technical writing skills and command of the French and English languages both written and spoken. The EGNOS Exploitation relies on the current EGNOS V2 system generation, to deliver a singlefrequency augmentation service to GPS.
