The Obama administration's fiscal 2016 budget unveiled Feb. 2 includes $18 billion for a six-year freight program designed to reduce roadway congestion the trucking industry says it needs to improve efficiency. Dubbed the National Export Initiative, the program would fund regional multimodal, corridor-based projects to improve the delivery of goods that move around the country.

In this interview with RCR Wireless, Volker Brands, the regional manager for Narda Test Solutions, is describing the launch of the second generation of hand-held spectrum analyzers, IDA2, for interference and direction finding. The capabilities of the IDA2 include the typical spectrum and level meter and spectrogram, as well as the full direction finding capability. Furthermore it analyzes the signal by demodulating it in the AM and FM band, and includes a scope mode and IQ analyzer to ensure a high probability of intercept of an interfering signal. The key customers are cellular operators, land mobile operators, broadcasters, regulatory agencies and the defense and intelligence community.
