One of New England's premiere developers wants to convert the long-abandoned mill at 34 Franklin St. into 166-175 apartments and place it on the National Historic Register to preserve the history and character of the Millyard site overlooking the Nashua River, city records show. Brady Sullivan Properties Inc. of Manchester bought the 310,000-square-foot building and adjacent boiler house once owned by the former Nashua Corp. on Aug. 14. The sale was handled by Lofts 34 LLC, a Brady Sullivan holding company.

Nashua, Milford to Hold Meetings on Proposed Gas Pipeline

The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission is holding meetings in Nashua and Milford to obtain feedback from residents about a proposed natural gas pipeline that would run through the state. The Telegraph of Nashua reports the pipeline, designed to bring gas from shale fields in Pennsylvania and New York, would span 71 miles of southern New Hampshire.

Nashua Mayor Donnalee Lozeau and Nashua Lodge of Elks 720 recently honored new Eagle Scout Benjamin Michael Beaulieu, of Boy Scout Troop 261, at his Court of Honor. The Elks presented Beaulieu with a framed Elks American flag, which each new Elks member receives when he is initiated, and an Elks Eagle Scout certificate from the Grand Lodge of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks.

The people behind the popular Manchester startup eatery Mr. Mac's may have moved a step closer on Thursday to opening a restaurant in Nashua, and the day may come sooner than later, now that the long-abandoned former Nashua Corp. building on Franklin Street is transformed into a twin of its neighbor, Cotton Mill Square. Then there's the city's eastern gateway, which is about to get the much-needed attention it has lacked for too many years.
