JOB DESCRIPTION Responsibilities Duties Tasks As a member of the Data Services team, the key person shall provide system architecture engineering support primarily for maintenance and evolution but also for routine operations. The particular focus of this post is in the area of multicast dissemination systems. In particular the tasks include in order of importance Maintenance o performing unit and nonregression testing o performing the acceptance and integration of externally developed software o maintaining existing system and software documentation o analysing system and software anomalies o designing system and software correctionsenhancements o providing advice and guidance with respect to maintenance issues Evolution o supporting the generation and analysis of user requirements o specifying system, software and tool requirements o prototyping system, software and tool enhancements o designing system, software and tool enhancements o supporting the development of system, software and tool enhancements o supporting the integration, verification and validation testing o generating and maintaining technical documentation system design and design justification documents interface control documents verification test plans, test cases and procedures maintenance procedures o participating in technical meetings and formal reviews Routine Operations o performing configuration changes o deploying new software releases o supporting verification and validation testing o providing secondline support o providing oncall support see section 5.2 o providing training to the operations analysts and controllers Qualifications In addition to having a University degree or equivalent in a relevant engineering discipline, the key person shall have experience in the operations, maintenance and evolution of data services in a highlyavailable 247 environment. Standby CallOut Support The following provisions shall apply for standby callout support EUMETSAT will specify in advance, on a work package basis, the schedule and scope for standby support. Requests for standby support must be authorised by the EUMETSAT technical representative. During periods of standby support, the key person shall respond to calls by telephone outside normal working hours, and shall provide remote support to Operations. The key person may, by telephone, ascertain the nature of the problem but must be available, if required, to report to the Mission Control Centre within one hour of callout.
