Overview Support the ESA Science Directorateon the following specific tasks Act as Senior Editor for the Science and Technology pages of the Science directorate, including the commissioning, editing and writing ofarticles and updates. Act as administrator of the Science Editorial Board to review newsrequests and coordinate the publication agenda. Act as Point of Contact for science missions internally ESA projectscientist and managers and externally Mission Science teams andcommunication partners. Under the responsibility of the Science Programme CommunicationOfficer, support the drafting and implementation of annual and missioncommunication plans. Organisation of media events, including briefing of speakers andfollowup of requests from media. Setup of outreach events agreed in the Science and ExplorationDomain communication plan. Support to launch and mission events and tasks and events defined inpartnership and cooperation agreements. Conception and conduct of social media campaigns, including themanagement of Science related social media accounts. Conception, editing and writing of stories for ESA science portal andSciTech pages in English. Obtain the necessary internal approval for publication. Conception of storyboards for videos, animations and social mediaassets. Represent ESA at scienceoutreachcommunication conferences bygiving presentations and to maintain and develop relationships with otherscience communicators and update own knowledge. Specific qualification requirements University degree at least MSc in Astronomy, Planetary Science,or Astrophysics. Minimum of8 years experience in the relevant field. Experience in Science, engineering or technological communication. Indepth knowledge of the missions and topics of ESAs ScienceProgramme. A good synthesisability and a thorough understanding and interest for science is needed International Media and Social media. Good interaction skills and capacity to work under stressful situations. A fair knowledge in the following areas will be considered an additionaladvantageScience communicationsAudiovisual requirementsGraphic design and layoutSocial media. Fluency in English both written and spoken is mandatory knowledge of another European language is an advantage. Legal and Security Requirements All applicants must be legally allowed to work in The Netherlands Applicants are required to provide a copy of their passport and degree certificate. Tasks will include Define reference processes and procedures in DSCI according to ECSS standards and QMS requirements. Interface with project controllers, project scientists for their specificconfiguration requirements needs. Document best practises with the commonly used DMS in DSCI e.g. ECLIPSE, Content Manager and design standard approach to be implemented in new projects. Provide consultancy to DSCI users on the possible Document. Management tools and advice on the most suitable solutions for their specific needs. Specific qualification requirements Masters degree in Engineering or equivalent or MBA or equivalent University degree from a recognised Institution of secondary studies or equivalent qualification in Business Administration, with relevant experience. Experience in controlling andor management of activities and resources in aerospace industry. For some tasks knowledge of FinanceAccounting may be required. Highly proficient in the use of modern activities and resource management support toolsdatabases of standard office automation support software packages including in particular advance usage of Excel MsOffice and in particular advanced use of Excel. Experience as user of SAP and in particular ECC and SRM modules and familiarity with relevant ESA corporate applications e.g. ESAp is an asset. Ability to rapidly understand and adapt to ESA specific context and environment including ESA corporate IT applications. Past experience with ESA in relevant activities is an asset. Proven experience in Configuration Management in Space Companies Organizations. Adequate knowledge and understanding of the applicable ESA Configuration Management requirements and standards such as MSESARQ100, MSESARQ108, ECSSM40. Good knowledge of the specific activities andor organisation, of the applicable configuration management working procedures and support tools are an asset. Previous experiences in fields like Product Assurance, System Engineering and Production Control are an asset. Fluent in the English language spoken and written. Knowledge of other European languages is an asset.
