This is a permanent position, calling for at least five years experience of network design. You will be placed on assignment based near Frankfurt in Germany for several years. Candidates should ideally be available to start in May of this year. Our client is responsible for establishing and operating weather forecasting and Earth observation satellite programmes with associated data telemetry and dissemination operations. Vast quantities of data are produced and user communities throughout the world are able to access both current and historical data sets. The demanding realtime environment places much emphasis on adherence to quality and configuration management standards and procedures. The main working language is English. The role will focus on the ground segment supporting a new satellite system and embrace Definition of requirements and their analysis, validation and maintenance Specification of a high level network system architecture and design, and the testing and rollout strategy Definition of ground segment network interfaces. Contributing to the evaluation of offers for network systems and services Candidates should possess at least five years experience of Preparation of network system requirements and design specifications. Understanding of the use cases and needs on networking imposed by satellite ground segment environments, experience of translating these to requirements on network infrastructure, functions and systems. Satellite ground segment network solution engineering throughout its lifecycle, from identification of needs to deployment, with a focus on Cisco technology and solutions. Working in and applying the above skills in highavailability, alwayson production environments, driven by high availability requirements. Interacting with suppliers of network products and services. Supporting procurements of network services. Candidates should hold a University degree or equivalent. Fluency in English is essential.
