Now that PS4 hardware is more or less out in the open to developers, we're starting to see how it stacks up to top-of-the-line PCs. With this latest demo of Unreal Engine 4, we get to see a side-by-side of how the two will compare. While the PS4 version is quite exquisite, it is startling just how much better the graphics are on the PC.

As we near the end of this console generation, the PC has been picking up the slack. Not only are games looking and playing extraordinarily better on the PC these days, but data is showing that the market is growing as well. With 8% growth in 2012, PC games made an astonishing $20 billion worldwide. It's heartening to see the uptick, but what will happen when the PS4 and Xbox 720 launch?

The annual Game Developers Conference (GDC) is in full swing at the Moscone Convention Center in San Francisco, and as always there's a flurry of gaming-related news to share. Sony took the opportunity to further discuss the PS4's internals and controllers, Activision is showing off one of the most terrifyingly realistic real-time human face animations, Konami blew the world away by unveiling Metal Gear Solid 5, and of course there's the usual slew of weird/interesting peripherals and indie/art games.

Nvidia gave AMD the PS4 because console margins are terrible

Nvidia and Sony talked about the PS4 -- and Nvidia apparently walked away from the discussion. From the GPU designer's perspective, it may not have been a bad idea.
