Tasks The Space industry is currently undergoing a paradigm shift moving from single large satellites to megaconstellations consisting of hundreds of satellites being launched. This of course creates new challenges when it comes to the operation of satellite missions. Software will have to play a crucial role in facilitating the automation required to successfully operate this unprecedented number of satellites. With the PLENITER software product suite SCISYS offers a comprehensive solution to monitor and control, as well as plan and automate, the operation of complete satellite missions. PLENITER is cutting edge software for the next generation of satellite control centres. The tasks of this role mainly involve Assisting with the definition of the system architecture within a team. Designing and Unit Testing software components with internal and external Interfaces. Producing documentation across all product phases. Software support throughout all phases including acceptance, commissioning and operations. Product development and maintenance of existing software modules. Interfacing with customers regarding features, bugs and future enhancements. Essential requirements The following skills and experience are essential University graduate or equivalent experience in computer science or a related subject. Good knowledge of current technologies in Java, Javascript, XML, GIT, REST, scripting languages. Good knowledge of current web technologies and frameworks jquery, bootstrap, AngularJS, Websockets. Ability to use your initiative and a structured approach to solving Problems. Team player, flexible, quick learner and an excellent Communicator. Product Assurance Engineer

Manage the project audit schedule and associated audit reportsactions, including inspections including supplier audits. Ensure the Equipment Qualification Status List is maintained for all equipments. Ensure compliance to product liability legislation. Review and approve the Certificate of Conformity CofC. Aerosol Product Development Engineer MW

Our German activities grow at fast pace and to face our costumers high level expectations and needs, we are looking for talented profiles having relevant experience in Space systems. The Engineer will work within Remote Sensing and Products RSP Division of the Technical and Scientific Support TSS Department and will provide support as a member of the Atmospheric Composition Team. This consultancy shall provide support to the development of aerosol products from instruments on the EUMETSAT Polar System series of satellites, with a particular focus on multisensor products. Evaluation and refinement of aerosol algorithms for the current MSG SEVIRI instrument is also in scope and further development and extension of algorithms for application to future satellite missions will be considered. PROFILE The engineer shall have the experience and capability to fulfil the assigned tasks with a minimum of supervision and have good interpersonal skills. Heshe shall be familiar with satellite instrument characteristics for Earth observation, in particular for atmospheric composition, meteorology and climate monitoring. Heshe shall have the ability to write concise and comprehensive scientific and technical reports. In addition to having a University degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline, the Key person shall have a minimum of 5 years experience in the field of remote sensing product development including at least 2 years of aerosol product development. Specifically the engineer shall have experience in aerosol optical and microphysical properties retrieval from satellite data inverse modelling of atmospheric composition using infrared and UVVIS vector radiative transfer models calibration and validation of satellite data products the EPS missions and instruments writing concise and comprehensive scientific and technical reports in English demonstrated skills in a higher programming language, preferably in C specification, design and coding of complex product processors testing and verification of complex data processing systems. The following areas of expertise would be an advantage familiarity with the retrieval of aerosol optical and microphysical properties from hyperspectral infrared satellite data familiarity with aerosol retrieval algorithm from geostationary satellites e.g. from SEVIRI quality control of satellite data and products operational product processing environments software build environments and tools e.g. make, imake, eclipse, insure source code control system, e.g. Subversion or CVS. The official languages of EUMETSA T are English and French. The working language for the position is English and therefore the Consultant must be able to work effectively in this language and have knowledge of the other. TASKS The tasks of the Engineer will include development of algorithms for aerosol products from instruments on the Metop series of satellites with a particular focus on multiinstrument aerosol products, drawing on the science of current established products from hyperspectral infrared and UVVisible sounders and multichannel imagers PMAp evaluation and refinement of aerosol algorithms for the current MSG SEVIRI instrument taking into account the constraints imposed by the final goal of implementation of the products within an operational processing system development of prototype software code for the purposes of testing and validating the algorithms developed generation of test data required for the verification of the algorithm and products validation of the products produced by the prototype software code using independent data generation of associated documentation including test data descriptions, Algorithm Theoretical Basis Documents ATBD, Product User Guides, Calibration and Validation Plan, Validation reports etc provision of support for implementation and validation of the products within the operational processing environment interfacing with experts across EUMETSAT as needed collaboration with expert groups and the wider scientific community outside EUMETSAT as appropriate provision of support for algorithm development and potentially prototype software development for future polar orbiting missions including next generation hyperspectral infrared and UVVisible sounders and multichannel imaging instruments with improved potential for deriving aerosol products. DUTIES The postholder will report to the Head of the Software Product Assurance SPA Section. The Section is responsible for the development, implementation and maintenance of SPA expertise and standards and for providing support to projects of the European Space Agency in the area of software product assurance.
