TASKS You shall work in the TSS Department as a member of the Mission Control Applications and Tools Team, which is part of the GSI Division. The Mission Control Applications and Tools Team performs the following activities Software engineering and software maintenance of multimission and missionspecific Mission Control Function systems and tools for GEO and LEO missions. In particular the following systems and tools o Monitoring and Control Systems and tools, o Onboard software management tools, o Flight Dynamics Facilities, o MissionPlanning Facilities, o OpsPrep Facilities, o Data analysis and reporting tools, Software engineering for the reusage of Mission Control Function systems and tools with the separation between generic kernel and missionspecific extensions. Automation of application software testing. Software engineering and software maintenance of satellite simulators. Software support to operations. List of tasks You will provide your prime support to the engineering and maintenance of the Mission Planning facility, but also you will provide some software engineering support to the rest of facilities under the responsibility of the Mission Control Applications and Tools Team. For such software facilities your tasks will typically include but not only Software Engineering Activities o Analysis, software design and following the procurement with external contractors of the evolutions needed in existing mission control facilities to become multimission tools with the concept of generic kernel and missionspecific extensions. o Analysis, software design and following the procurement with external contractors of the evolutions needed in existing mission control facilities to migrate them to state of the art technologies. o Analysis, software design and following the procurement with external contractors of the evolutions needed in existing mission control facilities to adapt them to the programmes needs for EUMETSAT coming missions. o Implementation of prototypes, technology research tools and operational tools in the area of MC. o Study the different approaches for the longterm maintainability of the mission control facilities. Software Maintenance Activities o Preventive and corrective maintenance including the investigation and correction or following the corrections implemented by external contractors of anomalies in the software facilities and verification testing of the fixes. o Evolutions and changes generation and analysis of userdriven and maintenance driven software requirements, design, following procurement of the changes with external contractors and verification testing of the changes. o Maintenance test procedures generation and updates of maintenance test procedures at software facility level and at system level, development andor procurement of scripts tools to perform installation checks, nonregression, functional and performance testing. o Automatic verification testing analysis and implementation of mechanisms allowing the automatic or semiautomatic verification testing of the software facilities. o Installation and verification testing of new software releases or patches preparation and participation to infactory at contractor premises acceptance testing campaigns, coordination of the installation of new releases or patches onsite and running the onsite verification testing at facility and system level. Technical Management o Documentation generation and updates of technical documents. o Routine reporting preparation and production of routine reports as necessary. o Meeting participation participation to technical, progress and team meetings as needed and requested. o Contractor management at technical level support for the technical management of the external contractors including supporting technical discussions, review of technical documentation from the contractor, organizing periodical technical meetings with the contractor. PROFILE In addition to having a University degree in a relevant engineering discipline, you shall demonstrate significant knowledge and experience in the area of software development. You shall have skills and experience in software development with the following mandatory areas 1. System Development Maintenance Skills o Extensive experience minimum 5 years in software development and maintenance using a formal life cycle resulting in deliveries to customers. This includes production of requirements, design engineering artefacts and implementation reflecting corrective and evolutive software maintenance activities as well as new applications definition. o Extensive experience minimum 5 years in AssemblyIntegrationVerification AIV related activities test procedure generation, nonregression testing, requirements verification and validation. 2. Software Engineering Skills o Extensive experience minimum 5 years in designing and developing software components and applications using Object Oriented OO approach including design patterns. o Relevant experience in the usage of software CASE design tools. o Extensive experience minimum 5 years in designing and developing software applications using Java under UNIX operating systems. o Experience minimum 3 years in designing and developing software applications using C under UNIX operating systems. o Extensive experience minimum 5 years in designing and developing software client applications using Eclipse as HMI framework Rich Client Platform. o Extensive experience minimum 5 years in developing software applications using interfaces to relational database management systems RDBMS and experience with RDBMS engineering. 3. Documentation and Configuration Management Skills o Very good knowledge of MS Windows Office Suite applications and experience with documentation management systems. o Experience in using configuration Management and anomaly reporting and tracking tools. The Software Product Assurance Engineer SPA will support at PrimeProject level The Product Assurance Manager PAM for Software Product Assurance activities, The Procurement Engineers for the Product Assurance of the subcontracted software and the ASICFPGA design models. You will define the project SW PA baseline necessary to satisfy SW PA requirements, ASICFPGA PA requirements, and other projectspecific requirements. You will ensure that an appropriate system is defined and implemented by each SW subcontractor and equipment provider developing ASICFPGA, to obtain and demonstrate compliance to the applicable requirements. For Product Assurance of the subcontracted software Coordinate with the procurement engineer. Produce the Software Product Assurance Requirements SPAR. Participate in the drafting of the SOW. Verify the compliance of subcontractors proposal SOC, SQAP, SCMP, SRF. Perform preventive and corrective audits of the subcontractor as necessary. Contribute to the definition of ASICFPGA PA and the ASICFPGA designvalidationproduction requirements that will be made applicable to the subcontractor. Verify the compliance of subcontractors proposal SOC, ASICFPGA plans. Verify the correctness of the processes implemented by the subcontractor.
