ResponsibilitiesDuties The lead software engineer will participate in all aspects of the software life cycle from design through development, support and reengineering, validation and maintenance, with a focus on delivering high quality reliable software to satisfy our demanding customers. The systems are Linux based and are developed in C using the SMP standard and the ESAESOC SIMSATSIMULUS suite. As a team leader, the role includes the allocation of work to more junior team members, supporting and monitoring their work, and reporting progress as well as problems to the project manager. English documentation and effective support to customer onsite is also required. Job tasks and responsibilities In order to fulfil its mandate, EUMETSAT manages and operates among other systems complex online and offline data processing systems and products generation facilities. The purpose of such systems is to generate higher level data products from the lower level data produced by the satellites instruments and transmitted to the ground.
