A vacancy for an ENS Principal Scheduler Engineer has arisen within the group discipline Planning Scheduling of the Project Data Management System Engineering Support department Airbus Defence Space in Stevenage.You will be responsible and accountable for the project scheduling preparation and reporting for one or several typically up to 3 projects of Earth Observation, Navigation and Science programmes line. This is a key role in the assigned Projects weekly, monthly, and quarterly review and reporting cycles to ensure accurate and timely visibility of key schedule, milestone and float data to Management, Customer, and internal Work Area Managers for valueadded decision making. This includes supporting the Project Managements representation to senior internal management and external customer as needed. You shall follow departmental processes and contribute to their improvement through lessons learned and specific improvement activities.Integrated within one or several project teams, in support to the Project manager, Project office manager andor Industrial manager, and by detailed twoway cooperation with the project Work Area Managers, you will ensure Project duration data consolidation. Project planning creation and update. Project schedule report edition towards customers and internal contributors. On demand Planning simulations. Critical path analyses and full consideration of schedule impact in the planning decision making at all levels. Trend Analysis. Support to the Estimate At Completion process via close coordination with the Project Controller and Project Management for delivery of consistent schedule input at appropriate level of breakdown and milestone filtering per Work Area, and support to crosschecking data consistency between scheduling and control. Appropriate engagement with project and senior internal management, other contributing schedule actors, and external customers and subcontractors as needed.We are looking for candidates with the following skills and experience Degree in Engineering with a background in Manufacturing would be desirable. Previous proven experience in a similar role Planning Scheduling. Experience of complex technological projects in complex industrial and contractual arrangements. Comprehensive knowledge of Satellite or other highly skilled engineering processes. Good knowledge of Project scheduling methodology. Good understanding of Project Management principles. Experience in Primavera P6 and MS Project are both required. Experience with Excel VBA would be desirable. Good communication skills and attention to detail, proactivity and proven team working capability. For the location in Darmstadt Germany we are looking for a GEO Programmes Scheduler at EUMETSAT. Tasks There are two Programmes running in the GEO Division at present the Meteosat Second Generation Programme MSG and the Meteosat Third Generation Programme MTG. The Key Persons will be integrated within the PRS Division into the Project Planning and Control PPC Team for GEO Programmes. The general task of the Key Persons will be to assist the PRS PPC Team in the implementation and maintenance of the GEO Programmes schedules and related scheduling and reporting processes. It is foreseen, that the detailed tasks of the Key Persons will include as a minimum Establish, monitor and control the GEO Programmes Schedules, based on inputs fromthe programme technical teams i.e. System, Ground Segment, Space Segment, including activities, inputs outputs. The tasks may extend to include planning and monitoring of the associated resources Elaborate and maintain multilayered programme schedules, based on first Level schedule used for management coordination and reporting, level two schedules indicating the main programme elements activities and interdependencies, level three schedules used by engineering teams to detail their own work. Level one and Level two schedules will cover the complete programme and system life cycle and allow analysis of critical paths and margins Monitor and control programme schedules, including maintenance of and controlled changes to the schedule baseline in view of progress made and scope changes agreed Generate and analyse programme performance indicators, including schedule performance indicators, milestone trend charts Generate periodic scheduling status reports, including trend analysis of scheduling performance indicators Prepare and contribute to regular programme meetings on schedule management, monitoring and control Assist programme team leaders in establishing, monitoring and controlling individual plans and schedules as well as related programme resources Liaise as relevant with the corresponding Planning Officer in the Operations Department to ensure coordination of scheduling activities involving that Department and the Programme Development Department contribute to the continuous improvement of PRS PPC working practices and procedures applicable to GEO Programmes, including related guidelines, checklists, templates and indicators, in line with the EUMETSAT Directory of Instructions DI and the EUMETSAT Management System EMS and the Programme Management Plans Essential Requirements The Key Persons shall have A University degree or equivalent, preferably in a Management or Engineering discipline At least 3 years proven handson experience in project planning, scheduling, monitoring and control Extensive handson experience in schedule preparation, monitoring and control, for complexlarge system programmes as well as in planning and monitoring the allocated resources, including conflict resolution Expert level usage of Microsoft Project or similar project schedulingplanning and management tools Extensive handson experience in using the Microsoft Office Suite and in particular Word and Excel. The Key Persons are expected to collect inputs from the various programmeproject Team members, and summarise the gathered information for the management. For this purpose, they shall possess good interpersonal and communication skills to be able to interface efficiently with both the management and technical levels of the tasks. LSE Space is looking for an experienced Engineer mf in order to fulfill the duty of PRS Scheduler Consultancy Support for our customer EUMETSAT in DarmstadtGermany. The position will provide scheduling support for the Technical and Scientific Support TSS Department The Key Person will be integrated within the PRS Division into the Project Planning and Control Team PPC for the OPS and TSS Departments. The general task of the Key Person will be to assist the PRS PPC Team in the implementation and maintenance of the TSS schedules and related scheduling and reporting processes. The following activities shall be performed Establish, coordinate and monitor all planning and scheduling across the TSS Department multimission infrastructure planning, products and services, projects planning etc including maintenanceevolution of ground segment systems, operational projects and developmentevolution of observational products related activities Generate, monitor and control TSS projects portfolio planning and schedules produced as part of the TSS multiprojects management system Assist team leaders in the planning of resources and generate reporting on resource usageavailability Develop and analyse schedule performance indicators. Establish a set of schedule trackers, metrics and performance indicators allowing to manage efficiently a portfolio of projects and report on the allocation of resources in a matrix support environment Maintain the schedule documentation and update the multiprojects planning database in coordination with the schedule responsible Document schedule assumptions, modifications, deviations, risks, critical path and milestone trend evolution Ensure that all schedule conflicts are resolved Contribute to schedule review meetings with relevant teams and participate in meetings to understand status of activities, as necessary organise the weekly planning and scheduling meetings provide planning for management meetings support reporting reviews, actions and recommendations Liaise with the Operations Planner for coordinating and maintaining operations planning and projects As relevant, provide planning support to major programme activities including the preparations for the launch and commissioning of new satellites Ensure all plans and schedules are distributed both internally and also to relevant external partnersentities using email, Intranet and Extranet Prepare and contribute to reports monthly progress report, technical reports as necessary. Qualifications Experience At least 3 5 years proven handson experience in project planning, scheduling, monitoring and control Extensive handson experience in schedule preparation, monitoring and control, for complexlarge system programs or multiproject environment, as well as in planning and monitoring the allocated Human Resources, including planning conflict resolution. Expert level usage of Microsoft Project or similar project schedulingplanning and management tools Extensive handson experience in using the Microsoft Office Suite and in particular Word and Excel. Academic and work related requirements A University degree in an engineering discipline is required. Perfect command of English, verbal and written. Knowledge of French would be an asset.
