Position Reference 109 RHEA Group is currently recruiting an EO data analysis specialist to support studies of new mission concepts at our clients premises in Noordwijk, The Netherlands. Tasks and Activities The scope of work will include Support the definition and monitoring of activities for the preparation of future ESA Earth observation missions, Review TNs and actively participate to studies and progress meetings related to EO future mission studies, Support elaboration of SOWs for EO future mission studies Contribute to ensure the coherency of the endtoend concept and design of future EO missions, including, as needed, mission performance analyses, simulations and analysis of observations and products, Level 1 andor Level 2 product and algorithm analyses, and data analysis for validation and mission performance during phase E of a mission in support of future missions. The specific analyses can be related to satellite or dedicated suborbital mission campaign concepts. Perform internal studies for future EO missions, in particular to assess the results of external activities or to prepare the formulation of new mission concepts Skills and Experience The following skills and experience are mandatory You have an MSc in Engineering with a strong background in satellite remote sensing, particularly altimetry andor sensing using Lband signals. You have handson experience with related data processing and simulations and a very good knowledge of the corresponding application areas. You have good knowledge of relevant programming languages e.g. Matlab, Python. Knowledge of specific software packages suited for the identified tasks or domains. You are able to work both autonomously and as a part of a team, have good communication and technical writing skills, good organisation skills. You are methodical and proactive, with spirit of initiative and capability to work independently. You have the capability to synthesise, summarise and take conclusions is an important asset. SPECIFIC TASKS Perform services at ESA Kourou office in support of STSEMK and STSEMC with regards to following CSG operational contracts status, ensuring the validity of processes carried out as described in operational contracts, and helping to improve the industrial processes, with regards to exploitation related activities. Conferring with stakeholders about specifications, industrial capacities and capabilities, and status of projects. Reviewing schedules, process flows, etc. to understand methods and activities in operations, integration and services, and how to improve efficiency and eliminate waste. Understanding the ways industrial systems at the CSG interact and how changes in conditions operations, launch rate, etc. can affect outcomes. Proposing industrial, process, and supply chain improvements. Designing control systems to minimise and resolve process and project issues. Coordinating with others internally and externally to assess the above and to create and implement changes. Contributing to measures and the improvement of database structure and functionalities. Helping to create processes methods to gather supplier contract and process activity data and propose and follow KPIs. Writing and establishment of report elements which will be directly usable in the ESA reporting system such as proposals and progress reports. SPECIFIC COMPETENCE REQUIREMENTS Degree qualification, preferably masters in an engineering or related subject. Lean andor six sigma training would be an advantage. Senior level of technical writing skills and command of the French and English languages both written and spoken. Experience highly developed capability in complex information data mining, analysis and reporting. A knowledge of the CSG and its functioning will be considered an important asset. Able to be discreet about confidential data. High degree of computer literacy MSOffice products particularly Word, PowerPoint, Excel. Knowledge of relational database concepts will be considered an asset. Contract and or supply chain management would be an asset. Relevant experience in MA, airport operations, andor industrial processes would be an asset.
