Vodafone confirms takeover of Cyta Hellas for EUR 118 million

(Telecompaper) Cyprus operator Cyta announced that Vodafone won the auction to acquire 100 percent of its Greek subsidiary, Cyta Hellas. Vodafone confirmed an agreement to buy the company for an enterprise value of EUR 118 million. The takeover still needs the approval of Greek regulator EETT.

Vodafone Italia launches EUR 10 mln 5G startup call

(Telecompaper) Vodafone Italia has teamed up with the PoliHub incubator of Milan's Politecnico university to launch 'Action for 5G', the first startup call devoted to development of projects based on the 5G standard in Italy. The company pledged to allocate EUR 10 million over four years to promote projects in areas such as robotics, augmented and virtual reality as well as 5G-based apps and digital solutions covering the industry 4.0, healthcare, smart city, smart grid, security and entertainment sectors.
