NEW YORK Officials tried to tamp down New Yorkers' fears Friday after a doctor was diagnosed with Ebola in a city where millions of people squeeze into crowded subways, buses and elevators every day. "We want to state at the outset that New Yorkers have no reason to be alarmed" by the doctor's diagnosis Thursday, said Mayor Bill de Blasio, even as officials described Dr. Craig Spencer riding the subway, taking a cab and bowling since returning to New York from Guinea a week ago.

Robots Gearing Up to Join Ebola Front Lines

The White House and roboticists have set Nov. 7 to get together in a workshop to explore ways of using robots to help in the battle against Ebola. The White House Office of Science and Technology Policy will cohost the workshop on safety robotics for Ebola workers, with Texas A&M University's Center for Robot-Assisted Search and Rescue, or CRASAR.

Dallas Nurse Who Contracted Ebola Now Virus Free, To Be Released

One of the nurses who contracted Ebola in Texas is going to be released from a Maryland hospital. Officials at the National Institutes of Health say Nina Pham is now virus free.
