MTN grows underlying service revenue 11% in Q1

(Telecompaper) MTN Group said it delivered a solid performance in the first quarter, increasing service revenue 16.5 percent to ZAR 38.7 billion. On a constant currency basis, service revenue rose 11.1 percent, as strong growth in markets such as Ghana and Nigeria helped offset lower revenues in its home market South Africa.

MTN, Vodacom and Telkom get extra spectrum to meet data demand during lockdown

(Telecompaper) The Independent Communications Authority of South Africa (ICASA) has granted MTN, Vodacom and Telkom emergency spectrum to deal with an increase in data demand during the coronavirus outbreak. ICASA said it considered applications for temporary radio frequency spectrum assignments in the 700 MHz, 800 MHz, 2300 MHz, 2600 MHz and 3500 MHz bands, including the use of television white spaces (TVWS), in an effort to ensure connectivity during the National State of Disaster.

PepsiCo's Mtn Dew Frostbite - Product Launch

PepsiCo has announced its first Walmart-exclusive Mtn Dew flavour. Mtn Dew Frost Bite is described as a "burst of icy refreshment and cool melon flavour". The product has rolled out to stores nationwide, in time for the warmer months, the company said.

MTN Group CEO to step down in March 2021

(Telecompaper) MTN Group announced that its group president and CEO Rob Shuter will be stepping down from his role at the end of his contract in March 2021. The board thanked Shuter for his contribution and said it hopes to complete the succession process during the year, enabling a seamless handover.
