Lawrence Curry | Internet Sales Director
Central Kia-Plano, Plano, Texas
AutoUSA: Can you tell me a little bit about your dealership and your background in the industry
Lawrence: I have been here in the Dallas/ Fort Worth Area for 7 years in the Automotive Industry. With that amount of time here, Ive seen quite a bit of healthy volatility and change when it comes to Internet Sales in strategy and process. Our dealership is family owned and operated and has been in business 15 years as a Kia franchise. In that time we have seen our products change and grow along with the size and demographic of our population in Plano, TX, a northern suburb of Dallas. Our community is still growing, currently rated as the 9th most populous city in Texas with over 270,000 residents. Our city is also home to several corporate headquarters including Dell, JC Penney, and Ericsson, just to name a few.
AutoUSA: What is the size and structure of your Internet Department?
Lawrence: We use a team of 9 salespeople that respond and follow up with Internet opportunities from their origination through completion of the sales delivery.
AutoUSA: What do you do that is different from your competition?
Lawrence: We are dedicated to a sales process founded on integrity and excellent customer service, with an approach to establish working relationships with our internet prospects from day one. More than a quarter of our business comes from buyers that are at least a month or two deeper into the purchasing funnel from their first contact with us. By keeping in touch with these prospects and providing information and value, without being a nuisance, were able to capture many of these opportunities once they get serious about visiting a dealer in person. We have found that there are many dealers out there that will call on their prospects heavily right after receiving them, but let them go if theyre unable to convert the sale right away. Nothing pays off more in this arena than hard work and persistence when it comes to earning the right to ask for the appointment.
