For our customer, ESOC in Darmstadt, Germany, we are seeking an experienced Spacecraft Operations Engineer to support their mission operations. Responsibilities General activities to be supported by the Spacecraft Operations Engineer include Operations Supervision including team management and shift or oncall planning Anomaly Handling Troubleshoot problems during pass conduction Restoring Spacecraft to Nominal Operation Detecting and fixing known anomalies OOLCEL Data gap recovery and Pass reporting, Execution of recovery actions as decided during Anomaly Management. Execute the different MP processes LTP, MTP, STP, VSTP, etc. and generate the corresponding products. Tools, MIB and FOP Maintenance Maintainupgrade MPS rules Automation scripts, Coordinate with other missions to maintain maximum commonality. Maintainmodify FOP procedures, MIB database in response to operations changes Validation and Deployment of Ground Systems updates Management and coordination of internal mission interfaces e.g. Fdyn, ESTRACK, SWS etc. Spacecraft Performance Analysis and Reporting Setup of tools and processes for regular generation of spacecraft performance reports and trend analysis. Periodic generation of the corresponding technical reports Phase Execution Eclipses Ops, Flyby, Remote Sensing Windows, etc. OnBoard Software Maintenance Support by means of implementing of OBSW patches Upload, dump, verify Engineering Model Maintenance ActivationDeactivation, patching, testing, configuration This is a fulltime position to be located at ESOCs premises in Darmstadt with the planned start date on 1 September 2021. Qualifications Competencies In addition to having a university degree in a relevant engineering field, you should be able to cover as many of the following topics as possible Essential skills are Spacecraft subsystem knowledge AOCSDHOBSMPowerThermalTTCPayload Coordination and interaction with other service providers in operations, and with other entities such as PI teams or Science Ground Segment Machine learning experience Experience in scripting programming Desirable skills include Familiarity with the ESOC environment Familiarity with satellite control systems, in particular SCOS2000 Familiarity with operational simulators, especially the ones based on SimSat Familiarity with deep space missions operations Familiarity with MOIS Familiarity with Onboard Control Procedures maintenance lifecycle You will be able to conduct all activities in an orderly and disciplined manner, able to work calmly and accurately under stress and able to work without supervision.
