Space Applications Services performs and supports system and software engineering for the European Space Agency ESA, National Space Agencies and the aerospace industry. We are involved in international manned unmanned spacecraft programmes, earth observation, science, exploration, communications and related technology development. We require staff, wishing to join our team to work in a dynamic international environment for the following position Configuration Management Officer mf ENGSERVBMC201421 Tasks and Responsibilities The work will be performed at the European Space Research and Technology Centre ESTEC in Noordwijk, The Netherlands. The position will include the following tasks and responsibilities Establishing and maintaining the Configuration Management CM requirements baseline for the Copernicus Space Segment Component Programme Maintaining the Projects Baseline requirements and their traceability in DOORS Establishing and maintaining the Configuration Status for the Copernicus Space Segment Component Organising in coordination with the PA managers, the Configuration Management Boards for the disposition of request for waivers, request for deviations and configuration change requests proposals Reviewing of contractors plans, specifications and effort proposed for the execution of the project CM programme Guiding and monitoring the implementation of CM requirements by contractors and directing the necessary preventive or corrective actions Guiding and monitoring the implementation of database tools for the Copernicus Space Segment Component Programme including documentation management, actions management, NCR management, Review management and CM management Guiding and monitoring the documentation management system of the Copernicus Space Segment Programme Providing support to the Quality Management System activities within the Directorate for the Documentation and Configuration Management aspects. Qualifications and Experience Applicants should have a University degree in a relevant discipline, several years of experience Configuration and Documentation Management for space projects. Experience in the management and administration of ESA databases and information systems including DOORS and ECLIPSE is an significant advantage. Furthermore, candidates are required to have following skills Ability to cope with pressure. Fluent in English. High level of flexibility. Good organization skills, good communication skills.
