We are seeking a Configuration Management Tool Support to join the team supporting existing Operational or preOperational systems and possibly future programmes. Key tasks associated with this role will typically include the creationmodificationdeletion and tracking of the following configuration items Hardware items e.g. computers, infrastructure and Comms equipments, Software items e.g. Software applications, COTS and associated Licences and documentation e.g. SpacecraftGround Segment Operational Guides, Manuals and Procedures. Tasks include Develop, document and administer on a daybyday basis the CM tool used to manage Changes and Configuration Items Develop, document and maintain all CM tool procedures and scripts aimed to automate and crosscheck as much as possible the applicable CM processes and working practices. Perform the second level maintenance of the CM tool occasionally, first level maintenance as well Ensure the proper identification and archiving of software releases delivered by external or internal development teams to EUMETSAT operational environments Witness and crosscheck activities relevant to software installation on EUMETSAT operational environments Provide support to the management of source code and data files Participate in the definition, improvement and implementation of the Configuration Management processes and working practices The successful candidate will have practical experience with Configuration Management Standards e.g. CMMI, ISO or ESA ECSS Configuration Management tools as administrator or advanced user Serena Dimentions or Clearcase Database programmingSQL Oracle or Sybase Testing of Software applications with complex ManMachine interface Practical experience with Source code control tools CVS, SubVersion. SW development environments on UNIX Scripting languages such as Python, Perl, Javascript or vb.net Would all be considered an advantage. Key elements of the role will involve providing support to change the control process, providing support to the configuration accounting and auditing process, providing support to the Anomaly Reports tracking process and to provide support to the application software development and maintenance process. All applicants must be degree qualified and have a minimum of 5 years experience in the field of Configuration Management, including build, deployment and installation processes on large softwareintensive highavailability operational systems. Excellent English, both spoken and written is essential, a working knowledge of the French language would be considered an advantage.
