Can you help us to prepare to double the marine data we process as we embark on our next generation of satellite observations? EUMETSAT is the European operational satellite agency for monitoring weather, climate and the environment. We observe the atmosphere and ocean from Space using a system of satellites, 365 days a year, offering images and data to provide insights into weather situations, environmental hazards and climate change. Our work helps users worldwide to monitor changes in these to protect lives, lifestyles and properties. We require an engineer to join our Data Processing Systems Engineering Competence Area to coordinate the maintenance and development of our systems engineering as we prepare to upgrade our Copernicus payload data processing systems. You will use your experience of software development lifecycles and change control processes, along with your knowledge of current technical standards. In this role you will be part of one of EUMETSATs most exciting future missions. The ability to build excellent working relationships and collaborate with both internal and external stakeholders is a key aspect of this role. You will enhance your leadership skills by coordinating engineering teams and managing industrial contracts. You must have strong technical and analytical skills, with the ability to convey complex concepts in a team environment. You need to be able to work independently, with the ability to prioritise tasks and resources. There is an opportunity to work with experts to develop long term strategies and roadmaps to enhance data processing across all of the satellite systems exploited by EUMETSAT.
