Customs air crew fires warning shots near Catalina at suspected smugglers

A U.S. Customs and Border Patrol helicopter crew fired warning shots at a panga boat crewed by three men who were suspected of smuggling marijuana, the agency reported today. The shots were fired during a pursuit that began around 10 p.m. Saturday in the waters near La Jolla.
