We are currently looking for a Data Dissemination Software Engineer to support our customer in Germany. Data Dissemination Software Engineer Key Tasks and Responsibilities Our customer is a European organisation providing weather and climaterelated satellite data, images and products for its users. You will have the following responsibilities Providing operational support to the maintenance and evolution of the EPS Dissemination System Requirements analysis including the definition of system and software requirements System design including software corrections and evolutions, redesign of legacy systems, user interfaces, and identification, procurement or implementation of tools Software testing including regression testing, acceptance of external software and verification and validation support Operational support of the Data Dissemination System such as monitoring the performance and behaviour, problem investigation and anomaly raising Support the delivery of externally developed software Generation and maintenance of technical documentation Participation in and organisation of technical meetings and formal reviews Preparation and production of routine reports as necessary. Skills Experience You will have the following qualifications and relevant experience University degree or equivalent in a relevant engineering discipline Several years experience in providing support for operational systems Experience in the operation and maintenance of satellite data dissemination distribution systems including experience with satellite data formats Several years experience in translating technical requirements into appropriate technical design and implementation Extensive experience in software development, maintenance, validation and verification related activities Extensive experience in designing and developing software components and applications in the CC, Java, XML programming languages under Unix, using Oracle or MySQL databases Practical knowledge of building of web applications, data dissemination, OO design approach, tool based software design, satellite Ground Segment Systems, Meteorological Data Formats will be an advantage Fluency in English is mandatory, knowledge of French language is an advantage.
