We are currently looking for a Data Services Engineer to support our customer in Germany. Data Services Engineer Key Tasks and Responsibilities Our customer is a European organisation providing weather and climaterelated satellite data, images and products for its users. You will have the following responsibilities Performing unit and nonregression testing Performing the acceptance and integration of externally developed software Maintaining existing system and software documentation Analysing system and software anomalies Designing system and software correctionsenhancements Supporting the generation and analysis of user requirements Specifying system, software and tool requirements Prototyping and designing system, software and tool enhancements Supporting the development of system, software and tool enhancements Supporting the integration, verification and validation testing Generating and maintaining technical documentation Performing configuration changes and deploying new software releases Providing secondline and oncall support Providing training to the operations analysts and controllers. Skills Experience You will have the following qualifications and relevant experience University degree in a relevant engineering discipline Several years experience in the operations, maintenance and evolution of data services in a highlyavailable 247 environment Several years system engineering experience in analysis of legacy systems, requirements engineering, development of architectural evolutions, highavailability systems, virtualization, cloud and grid computing, standard file transfer protocols FTP, FTPS, SFTP, distributed webbased applications, big data management, multicast applications, DVBSDVBS2 reception Software development andor maintenance using an objectoriented approach Configuration management and anomaly reportingtracking tools Knowledge of the following technologies and tools would be an advantage Serviceoriented system engineering, visualization of satellite products, Linux packaging RPM, DEB, hierarchical storage management systems, advanced Linux and Windows system administration DOORS, UML or SysML, Enterprise Architect or CORE, CORBA TAO, Shell scripting languages bash, csh, perl, SubVersion and Eclipse Fluency in English is mandatory knowledge of another European language is an advantage.
