A vacancy for a Design Detection Laboratory Engineer mf has arisen within Airbus Defence Space in Toulouse. You will join the Detection Prototyping Laboratory section, in the EO Microwave Detection department of the Optical and Microwave Instruments division. In the context of the divisions laboratory and detection design activities, you will be in charge of RT activities, as well as the design of future instruments. Your mission will include the following activities In the context of RT, design or project activities, you will implement and lead validation tests on detection devices detectors, detection chain, etc. In this context, you will need to design detection electronics and test benches for detector implementation In the context of instrument design activities imaging systems, lidars, radiometers, imaging spectrometers, event detectors, etc., as part of a multifunctional team, you will design solutions for carrying out the detection function, and will propose and select from among various technical solutions, as well as prepare radiometric performance reports. In this context, you will be responsible for the following activities Implementing and successfully carrying out detection chain and detector characterisation and validation programmes, Setting up test plans analysing and using the test results, Participating in instrument definition designs, providing expertise regarding detection technologies and carrying out the dimensioning and design of the detection subassembly, Producing radiometric performance reports, Developing simulation software used to assess the behaviour and performance of detection chains, Participating in project progress meetings and presentation meetings with Customers, producing contractual documentation. This position will require occasional travel for business 1 to 2 times per year in Europe, and, as such, you must be able to travel accordingly. We are looking for candidates with the following skills and experience Engineering or PhD, with a specialisation in electronics, electrooptical detection, andor signal processing, 2 years of experience in design andor experimentation activities in an electronic or detection domain, An initial experience with the knowledge and implementation of Infrared, CMOS or CCD detectors would be a plus, Solid knowledge of detection techniques, detectors, signal processing, analogue electronics, metrology and measurement, Ideally, knowledge in software tool development MATLAB and C, and FPGA programming, Team spirit, Good sense of responsibility with regards to commitments made and compliance with deadlines, Excellent grasp of physics, Analytical and summary skills, as well as skills in complex systems, Meticulousness and technical curiosity, Creativity and an interest in innovation, Excellent communication skills scientific reports and presentations, Ability to interact with numerous partners specialised in various instrumentation functions, Advanced level of English and French.
