(Telecompaper) EE has announced a petabyte (PB) mobile data bundle for business customers. This one million gigabyte (GB) option is the latest in a range of massive shared data bundles starting from 50 TB. The new Super Bundles have been developed for corporate and public sector organisations looking to expand their mobile data fleets, and for data-intensive industries such as broadcast, communications media and CCTV. Super Bundles are available in 50 TB, 100 TB, 200 TB, 500 TB and 1 PB units. Each data bundle has no expiry date and is not subject to sharer fees, and they can paid up front or payment can be phased over time. Broadcast companies usually use satellite links to upload video from the field, with satellite uplink costs ranging from GBP 20 per gigabyte for data transfer. EE's new Super Bundles, costing GBP 8 per gigabyte for a petabyte of data, could save broadcasters up to GBP 12 million when using that amount of data. Kester Mann, senior analyst at CCS Insight, said that EE's new tariffs positioned it to capitalise on the huge increase in demand for data services expected from 4G enterprise customers in the UK.
