U.S. EPA reached an agreement with PLZ Aeroscience Corporation (Addison, IL) to voluntarily phase-out use of trichloroethylene (TCE) in aerosol arts and crafts spray fixative product, used to provide water repellant and protective finish, by September 1, 2015.  Also, EPA is issuing proposed Significant New Use Rule (SNUR) under TSCA requiring anyone intending to initiate manufacture (including import) or processing of TCE for said uses to notify EPA at least 90 days before doing so.
