Job description For our customer, ESOC in Darmstadt, Germany, we are seeking an experienced ESTRACK Operations Engineer to support their mission operations. Responsibilities This request is for a ESTRACK Validation Engineering and ESTRACK Station Engineering services. The provision of ESTRACK Validation Engineering Services includes on one hand the support the RFCT process by Reviewing the Compatibility Verification Matrix, Test Procedures and test results Definition and execution for the Radio Frequency Compatibility test plan and production of the Test Report And on the other hand support of the ESTRACK NDIU Engineering Services including Maintain a plan of usage of the available NDIU Support the procurement of NDIU Configure and validate the NDIU Support the operations In addition to those services, the provision of Station Engineering services could be required, including Maintenance of the Station configuration Support the station upgrade processes from the review of requirements to the validation and handover to operations This service will primarily be provided in support of ESTACK ground stations. This is a fulltime position to be located at ESOCs premises in Darmstadt with the planned start date on 1st July 2021. Please note there will be 2 European missions per year and 1 or 2 missions outside Europe per year as travel requirements. Qualifications Competencies In addition to having a university degree in a relevant engineering field, astronomy, mathematics or physics, you should be able to cover many of the following topics Essential skills are Telecommunication Engineering knowledge, i.e. RF expertise including practical experience as RF engineer in groundstation GroundStation knowledge i.e. architecture, subsystem maintenance and operations, incident management, station performance. Configuration control expertise i.e. knowledge and experience in configuration management Expertise on production of technical reports reflecting the performed tests and the associated results. Desirable skills include Understanding of RF Compatibility Tests Familiarity with the ESOC environment processes, configuration control Familiarity with ground station control processes and setup Some experience dealing with external interfaces like MO and industrial suppliers Familiarity with Ground station maintenance and operations You will be able to conduct all activities in an orderly and disciplined manner, able to work calmly and accurately under stress and able to work without supervision.
