Summary To join the established EO team in VEGA, supporting and wining work in Remote Sensing and Data Processing field. Objective Telespazio VEGA is expanding its commitment to developing EO data driven applications and services to be applied in governmentalscientific areas such as climate change scientific exploitation platforms. Due to the close relationship between Telespazio Vega and our parent company, there is an expectation that exploitation of SAR data will be a significant but not sole driver in the activity. The candidate will be able to lead bids aimed at providing EO scientific exploitation platforms. We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic senior self starter to work in close support with our sales team, prepare proposals, startup and execute projectsstudies and contribute to new and ongoing EO related services. This will include managing and working on the EO related projects. The candidate may be required to travel within Europe and must be willing and able to liaise with clients and subcontractors when needed. Responsibilities Duties Working with the sales team to promote Telespazio Vega in the Earth Observation and SAR fields Liaise with clients to fully exploit opportunities Writing proposals for new work in scientific and ESA based services. Support to in house QC activities and evolutions when needed Management of studies and projects. Performance of scientific and engineering activities on studies and major projects. Tracking and management of project resources costs, schedule, staff Planning and oversight of activities for project implementation Responsible for ensuring customer acceptance of project deliverables and or services Ensuring efficient processes are in place for all aspects of project service delivery Qualifications Experience Science based degree, or equivalent, in physics or remote sensing Postgraduate experience working with EO data Experience of working in a commercial environment Ability to engage in technical aspects of project Customer relationship management Communication at level appropriate to context e.g. technical, management Standard office IT skills Essential Skills Understanding of EO data andor services at an expert level Understanding of SAR, andor SAR image processing Understanding of EO data and EO data quality or calval Experience in the use of SAR images and applications Experience of proposal writing Desirable Skills Experience in commercial EO activities Good appreciation of the business Experience of EO related to climate change monitoring or long term data preservation or scientific challenges related to themed fields eg Geohazards, Sea Ice, etc. Qualities Innovator, team player and comfortable working in an international environment Enthusiastic selfstarter Must be willing and able to travel within Europe Further Details All roles within Telespazio VEGA have a defined closing date, however if a successful candidate is found before the advert expires the role will be closed early.
