Although the chances of development appear to be decreasing, a tropical depression could still form in a few days while the system moves westward at about 15 mph. This system is expected to cross into the Central Pacific Basin by the end of the week. * Formation chance through 48 hours...low...20 percent. * Formation chance through 7 days...medium...40 percent. Central East Pacific: A weak area of low pressure located about 900 miles south-southwest of the southern tip of the Baja California Peninsula is producing disorganized showers and thunderstorms. Some slow development is possible during the next few days while the low moves slowly to the west-northwest.
