You will have the opportunity to work on the Thematic Exploitation Platform TEP which is related of a user community and research field eg. Hydrology TEP, a Regional Exploitation Platform to a given area of interest eg. Europe, Sierra Nevada, Japan, a Mission Exploitation Platform to a particular satellite mission eg. SMOS, GOCE, . An Exploitation Platform is a virtual workspace, providing a user community with access to i large volume of data EOnonspace data, ii algorithm development and integration environment, iii processing software and services e.g. toolboxes, retrieval baselines, visualization routines, iv computing resources e.g. hybrid cloudgrid, v collaboration tools eg. forums, wiki, knowledge base, open publications, social networking, vi general operation capabilities e.g. user management and access control, accounting, etc. Tasks and Activities The scope of work will include Participate in project engineering and technical reviews Contribute to definition of OLAs between ESA and the TEPs projects Coordinate TEP support with ESA EOPG and EOPS operational services, such as EOSSO, EOPI, etc Support data sourcing and data provisioning for ESA and TPM data Support the provisioning of additional computing and storage resources to the TEPs via the EOPG support to development and operations ICT services Support the execution of the TEP Pilot projects nominated by ESA Support verification and validation of the TEP platforms during development and preoperations Contribute to the ESA TEP initiative general website setup and update Contribute to the ESA EO reference architecture baseline by providing requirements and solutions to allow EP connection with ESA EOPG and EOPS operational services Animate TEP technical forums discussion about support to preoperations, sustainability and data sourcing. Skills and Experience The following skills and experience are mandatory University degree or equivalent qualification, preferably in High Throughput Computing related fields Specific knowledge and experience on high performance computing, high throughput computing, cloud and grid computing Specific knowledge of the ESA SSEP architecture and related projects and components Familiarity with the ESA ECSS engineering process and technical reviews Background in EO data processing Specific knowledge of relevant technical fora and standards How to Apply Looking to take your career to the next level?
