Source: Purdue University It’s been a rough ride for the nation’s farmers. Last year, their crops were ravaged by drought. This year, too much rain has kept them out of the fields at planting time. This uncertainty marks the plight of farmers and the uncertainties of weather and their dependence upon it.   “The challenge farmers have is in dealing with extremes,” says Purdue Extension agronomist Tony Vyn, who advises farmers on the best tillage methods for different crops and soils. read more
